Relais Chateaux Orfila è una struttura da sogno! Siamo da poco tornati da Madrid e già ci manca. Un viaggio di quelli intensi perchè nonstante abbiamo trascorso solo due notti, le cose da fare e vedere sono davvero tante! Partiamo dalla struttura che ci ha ospitato.

Situata nel quartiere Salamanca,il più chic della città, il Relais & Chateaux Hotel Orfila è una di quelle strutture senza tempo. Non appena ci entri, vieni catapultato in una dimensione di altri tempi, all’insegna dell’eleganza e del buon gusto dove nulla è lasciato a caso e dove la gentilezza e la disponibilità del personale la fanno da padrone. L’ingresso è davvero bello, il salone ti colpisce fin da subito per i suoi arredi d’epoca e i marmi lavorati e noi non abbiamo potuto che rimanere estasiati da tanta bellezza.

Relais Chateaux Orfila : le camere

Con 32 spaziose camere, il Relais Chateaux Orfila è davvero un luogo perfetto dove soggiornare sia che voi viaggiate per affari o che siate dei “weekenders” che si apprestano a scoprire Madrid!Tutte molto curate nell’arredamento, che si presenta sempre classico e molto elegante, le camere offrono i più svariati servizi come un minibar davvero fornito, Wi-Fi gratuito, smart Tv, cassetta di sicurezza elettronica e un iPod dock che ci ha deliziato con ottima musica durante tutta la nostra permanenza.Le suite dispongono anche di un living separato e offrono agli ospiti un servizio di transfer dall’ aereoporto compreso nel prezzo della camera.

Da sottolineare è la fantastica posizione dell’hotel, da qui infatti potrete raggiungere a piedi molti luoghi di rilievo come il Museo del Prado, il Parco del Buen Retiro, il Thyssen Art Museum e molti altri che lasciamo alla curiosità dei viaggiatori.

Il concierge ci ha subito accompagnati in camera: bella, spaziosa con eleganti arredi tradizionali e mobili d’epoca e un graditissimo benvenuto con una bottiglia di vino. Anche il bagno, impreziosito da superbi marmi, ci ha da subito conquistati per la sua vasca idromassaggio, ideale dopo le lunghe passeggiate nella bellissima città.

Relais Chateaux Orfila : il ristorante

La sera abbiamo cenato nella sala del Relais Chateaux Orfila e siamo venuti a conoscenza della partnership dell’hotel e di Mario Sandoval, due stelle Michelin e che ha visto la sua concretizzazione in un progetto gastronomico che coniuga lusso ed alta cucina. Abbiamo, infatti, assaggiato la cucina del grandissimo chef e ne siamo rimasti piacevolmente colpiti per la ricercatezza degli abbinamenti proposti e l’equilibrio dei sapori in ciascun piatto mangiato.

Rientrati in camera abbiamo potuto apprezzare le piccole coccole riservate ai clienti, quali dei cioccolatini o delle salviette defatiganti per il corpo.

La mattina ci siamo svegliati presto per poter godere della città, ma prima di tutto ci siamo recati a colazione. E qui un’altra bellissima sorpresa: ad attenderci un vastissimo buffet pieno di ogni prelibatezza, dolce e salata. Abbiamo avuto solo l’imbarazzo della scelta nel decidere cosa prendere: pani di tutti i tipi e vasto assortimento di croissant e pain au chocolate, i famosi churros da intingere nella cioccolata calda, frutta secca e fresca, succhi freschi, yogurt e un vastissimo assortimento di salumi e formaggi. Possibilità, inoltre di ordinare alla carta, altri piatti quali omelette, scrambled eggs o la tipica tortilla madrilena.

Il tutto con vista sul delizioso cortile della struttura di cui ci siamo innamorati a prima vista; un piccolo angolo di paradiso fiorito con superbi effetti tromp oueil dove sorseggiare un buon tè o semplicemente rilassarsi ascoltando il cinguettio degli uccelli.

E dopo un’intera giornata in giro per Madrid, la sera stanchi ma felici, abbiamo voluto usufruire del servizio in camera scegliendo un tagliere di formaggi francesi, un’insalata con mozzarella, pomodori e basilico e un hamburger con patatine fritte. Ci siamo visti recapitare i piatti in camera con la stessa attenzione per il dettaglio già riscontrata in precedenza e non avremmo voluto più andare via. La mattina successiva un’ultima sontuosa colazione e poi ci è toccato salutare questa magnifica struttura che ci ha ospitati e ha consentito che il nostro soggiorno a Madrid fosse una vera e propria favola. We have just returned from Madrid and we already miss it. A journey of those intense because we spent only two nights and there were so many things to do and see!
Let’s start from the structure that hosted us. Located in the Salamanca district, the most chic in the city, Relais & Chateaux Hotel Orfila is one of those timeless structures.
As soon as you enter, you are thrown into a dimension of other times, in the name of elegance and good taste where nothing is left to chance and where the kindness and availability of staff are the masters. The entrance is really beautiful, the salon immediately impresses you with its period furnishings and marbles and we could not but be enraptured by such beauty.

With 32 spacious rooms, the Hotel Orfila is truly a perfect place to stay whether you are traveling on business or are “weekenders” getting ready to discover Madrid!
All the rooms, very well designed, with a classic and very elegant touch, the rooms offer the most varied services such as a fully stocked minibar, free Wi-Fi, smart TV, electronic safe and an iPod dock that delighted us with great music throughout our stay. The suites also have a separate living room and offer guests a transfer service from the airport included in the price of the room.
To underline is the fantastic location of the hotel, from here you can walk to many important places such as the Museum of Prado, the Buen Retiro Park, the Thyssen Art Museum and many others that we leave to the curiosity of travelers.

The concierge immediately escorted us to our room: beautiful, spacious with elegant traditional furnishings, antique furniture and a sweet welcome with a bottle of wine. Even the bathroom, embellished with superb marble, has immediately won us over for its Jacuzzi, ideal after long walks in the beautiful city.

In the evening we had dinner in the relay room and we learned about the partnership of the hotel and Mario Sandoval, two Michelin stars, that saw its realization in a gastronomic project that combines luxury and haute cuisine. In fact, we tasted the kitchen of the great chef and we were pleasantly impressed by the refinement of the proposed combinations and the balance of flavors in each dish eaten.

Returning to the room we could appreciate the small cuddles reserved for customers, such as chocolates or wiping towels for the body. In the morning we woke up early to enjoy the city, but first of all we went for the breakfast.
And here we found another beautiful surprise: to expect a huge buffet full of every delicacy, sweet and salty. We were spoiled for choice in deciding what to take: breads of all types and a wide assortment of croissants and pain au chocolate, the famous churros to dip in hot chocolate, dried and fresh fruit, fresh juices, yogurt and a wide assortment of meats and cheeses. Possibility, moreover to order to the paper, other dishes such omelette, scrambled eggs or the typical Madrid tortilla.

All with a view of the delightful courtyard of the structure we fell in love at first sight; a little corner of paradise flowered with superb tromp oueil effects where you can have a good tea or simply relax listening to the birds chirping.

And after a whole day around Madrid, tired but happy in the evening, we wanted to take advantage of the room service choosing a platter of French cheeses, a salad with mozzarella, tomatoes and basil and a hamburger with fries. We met the dishes in the room with the same attention to detail already found previously and we would not have wanted to leave. The next morning a last sumptuous breakfast and then we had to say goodbye to this magnificent structure that hosted us and allowed us to make our stay in Madrid a real fairytale.
